2025 Ross Recreation Gr K-4 Basketball League Rules and Information
Please direct all questions to league director, Wyatt Mann, at wmann@townofrossca.gov. Wyatt will be onsite at Ross School during games, every Saturday from 8:00am – 5:00pm or whenever the last game ends.
League Dates / Practices: Ross Recreation K-4 Basketball League runs January 6, 2025 - March 1, 2025. Weekday practices Monday through Thursday are held at Bacich Elementary. Friday practices are held at Ross School.
Saturday Games: 1/18, 1/25, 2/1, 2/8, 2/22, 3/1 (no games 2/15 for Mid-Winter Break). Saturday games for K-1 are held at Bacich Elem. and games for Gr 2-4 are held at Ross School.
Game Times: All games start between 8:30am – 2:30pm (Please refer to the game schedule for when your child plays each week)
Basketball League: Rules & Information
This a program designed for children to learn and play the game of basketball through instructional play. Coach Lorenzo Cowell leads the 2025 Gr 2-4 season alongside assistant coaches Matthew Delay and Elliot Song. Coach Jean Marc Schafer leads the 2025 K-1 season alongside assistant coaches Saia Bach and Owen McDaniel.
All Gr 2-4 families must enter the Ross School gymnasium through the blacktop. Ross School District gates will remain closed during games to ensure the safety of players and property.
All K-1 families will enter Bacich Comm. Center through main entrance.
(Ross School Only) Outdoor bathrooms located on the blacktop will remain open for players and families during all games.
Each team plays (1) game each week and is assigned to a team color. Please bring /wear your team shirt every game!
Game scores will be recorded for every team each week for Gr 2-4 only. Teams will be ranked in order by Wins- Loses. K-1 teams are not ranked.
The last week of games is the Finals (3/1/25). Gr 2-4 Ranked teams will be matched up based on Wins-Loses throughout the season. The overall top team players will win a trophy. All remaining team players will receive an honorary medal. ALL K-1 teams receive an honorary medal!
Weekly games will consist of (2) 20-minute halves.
All players will sub/ rotate in every 5 minutes during game play.
No black-soled shoes. Athletic shoes or basketball shoes on the court only.
No jewelry allowed during game play.
Please put trash and recycling in the proper receptacles.
Do not climb on the basketball apparatus. Do not play on, under, or behind the bleachers.
Keep an eye on your belongings. Ross Recreation is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Make sure you take all your belongings with you.
There is zero tolerance for violence or threats of violence to persons or property. No aggressive play or hard intentional fouls. Spectators must always remain respectful to coaches and players. Repeated and intentional infractions of these posted rules will result in being suspended from the program.
