Ross Recreation has been a leader in fun summer camp offerings for over 30 years, serving all of the Ross Valley community and beyond! With staff that returns year after year, and a strong emphasis on fun for EVERYone, Ross Rec offers specialty camps for children from age 3 to 15 with all sorts of different interests.

 

Summer Camp FUN

Top Gun

Jean Marc Schafer and our other Ross Rec instructors will be heading Top Gun this year. Packing in all the sports and play they can–basketball, baseball, capture the flag, soccer, scavenger hunts, water balloon fights & more! Plus (depending on group age) a bike ride on Fridays.

Wear sunscreen. Bring a water bottle, snack and lunch.

Sporty Girls

This ever popular camp is for girls who love sports! Campers will learn the skills needed to excel in various sports through basic drills, and fun competitions. Girls will emerge from this camp with new techniques and confidence that they can apply to their regular sports season. Have fun while learning new skills and playing sporty games!

Wear sunscreen. Bring a water bottle, snack and lunch.

Kinder Summer Camp

*Limited to incoming Ross kindergartners.*

Is your child ready for Kindergarten? Join Ms. Kiara from the Ross Rec Kid’s Club for Kinder Camp for an introduction to the joy and fun of Kindergarten! Students will engage in art-based and play-based activities and hands-on learning, all while familiarizing themselves with their future kindergarten classroom, playground, and school. We will cover the importance of respect, kindness, and creativity in the classroom, as well as how to be a thoughtful teammate. We hope to see you there!

Off the Block Lego Camp

Young Padawan Engineering with LEGO®
Become one with the force, or join us on the dark side… either way your kids will be in for hands-on based fun in our Star Wars themed STEM class! Get ready for a summer camp jam-packed with lightsaber training, obstacle courses, eventful scenes, and everything it takes to be one with the Force! What side are you on? Come experience this stellar journey to a galaxy far away.
Age Range: 5 – 7

Off the Block S.T.E.M. with LEGO® (Junior Engineers)
If you can think it, you can build it! Off the Block S.T.E.M. classes will help your child explore fundamental S.T.E.M. concepts using LEGO® as a part of a fun, engaging environment in which they learn as they play. This class aims to provide a dynamic and interactive learning experience, combining hands-on building with the principles of STEM education. Every build is accompanied by a sense of accomplishment that directly fuels your child’s self-esteem. IanMcAvoy (Mr. LEGO®) is the founder at Off the Block S.T.E.M. and will be leading each class.

Spirit of Innovation Camp- Python Pro
Gear up for a coding adventure at TinkerTech Python Pro Camp for middle schoolers (11-15). Get ready to embark on a journey with Hello World and MadLibs projects, where you’ll master the art of print statements, inputs and logic. See how Python can be used for creative projects including programming robots and micro-controllers. Then build on this with projects you can personalize to your own interests.

TinkerTech Coding & AI Camp
Dive into the coding universe at TinkerTech Coding & AI Camp! Join our summer adventure, where coding meets fun in a dynamic STEM experience for grades, 3-5. Imagine creating animated worlds, clicker games, and platforms using Scratch – turning coding into a thrilling game!

Guided by experienced, CS instructors, we cater to beginners and coding ninjas alike. Delve into the magic of machine learning AI for those seeking an extra challenge. Team up for exciting games, tackle coding challenges, and unleash creativity with like-minded campers.

Spirit of Innovation Camp- Robotics Engineering and Entrepreneurship
Join us for an immersive week of STEM and unravel the mysteries of robotics using top-notch robotics kits. Explore the potential of the micro: bit combined with servo-motors and dive into creating your own 3D designs to add that personal touch. Experienced CS instructors will help you as you get hands on with building and programming. We’ll also guide you as you think through real and imagined uses for the robots you invent to take them from design to entrepreneurial pitch. It’s not just about programming; it’s about bringing your ideas to life in a relaxed and friendly setting.

TinkerTech Fun with Robotics Camp
Delve into robotics with TinkerTech Robotics Camp – the ultimate summer STEM adventure for grades 3-5 (ages 8-11)! Picture this: crafting your own bots, rovers, and more using an array of cool tools – it’s a robo-experience like no other!

Our experienced team of robo-guides are here to turn every camper into a robotics whiz, whether you’re a new recruit or a seasoned tech master. Get hands-on with building and programming, and see your ideas come to life.
Join forces with fellow campers for mini challenges, collaborative projects, and gear up for the grand Friday demo where your robotic creations take center stage!

Higgins Youth Tennis Camp

Beginner to Intermediate. Children are divided by age and level. All camps feature: development of tennis strokes, rallying skills, and competitive play that is age appropriate. Campers learn teamwork, make friends, and enjoy fun games like Angry Birds Tennis, Skyball, and Big Kahuna. All camps feature HIGGINS BUCKS, Water Fun Day (no swimming), and the Higgins Bucks Store where children buy prizes on Fridays!

Learn and Play with TGA Junior Golf

TGA Junior Golf is one of the leading organizations to introduce and excite kids about the game of golf. TGA turns The Ross Common Grove into a practice facility for a 5 day camp.
Daily activities involve understanding the fundamentals of the golf swing along with the rules and etiquette of the game. We use fun games, drills, and props to keep campers entertained. Campers will Drive, Chip, and Putt their way down the fairway to becoming junior golfers. We provide the equipment and props for every drill and game the kids play. Campers are recognized for their achievements in skill, knowledge, and sportsmanship.

Our staff is energetic and experienced. ALL GOLF CLUBS ARE PROVIDED! Daily prizes awarded at the end of each day.

Academic Chess Summer Chess Camp

oin us in June where we will continue to foster patience, strategic planning and critical thinking skills. Our time will be spent on principles of the opening, tactical elements of the middle game, and basic endgame situations. We’ll break down historical games, do tactical exercises, and analyze games by camp participants. Participants get copies of our exclusive workbooks and we’ll end the week with a chess tournament. Camp will be held indoor/outdoor at the Ross School.

Portuguese Soccer Camp (ages 6-12)

This camp is aimed for the 6-12 year-old who likes to have fun and play soccer, kickball, dodgeball, and small sided games. Alek provides a fun, creative environment that includes games like treasure chest, simon says, red light green light, Healdsburg shooting game, and steal the bacon! Kickball, tunnel tag, and capture the flag as well. The child will need to wear clothes they can be creative in, and they need to bring bottled water. Snack breaks and lunch is part of the schedule.

French Summer Camp

6/17-6/21:  French Cuisine Week: Children learn about French cuisine, including cooking techniques, famous dishes, and regional specialties. They can also participate in cooking classes and taste French delicacies.

6/24-6/28 French Arts and Crafts Week: Kids explore various French artistic styles, such as impressionism, and create their own masterpieces inspired by famous French artists like Monet and Picasso. They can also engage in traditional French crafts like pottery and paper mache.

7/8-7/12 French Language and Culture Week: Children immerse themselves in the French language and culture through games, songs, and storytelling. They learn basic French phrases, play language-learning games, and discover French customs and traditions.

7/15-7/19 French Sports and Games Week: Campers engage in French sports and games such as boules, pétanque, and French-themed relay races. They also learn about the importance of sports in French culture and participate in friendly competitions.

7/22- 7/26 French Nature and Wildlife Week: Campers explore the natural beauty of France, from the picturesque countryside to the stunning coastline. They learn about French wildlife, go on nature walks, and participate in eco-friendly activities like planting trees and recycling.

7/29-8/2 French Cuisine Week: Children learn about French cuisine, including cooking techniques, famous dishes, and regional specialties. They can also participate in cooking classes and taste French delicacies.

8/5-8/9 French Arts and Crafts Week: Kids explore various French artistic styles, such as impressionism, and create their own masterpieces inspired by famous French artists like Monet and Picasso. They can also engage in traditional French crafts like pottery and paper mache.

 

Our summer French immersion camps offer children the chance to learn a new language through storytelling, music, arts and crafts, and exploration of various cultures. These activities help children develop a genuine enthusiasm for continuing to learn French!

At the conclusion of each camp, children will have the ability to introduce themselves, their friends, and family; identify their favorite animals and colors; count up to 100; follow basic instructions; express fundamental emotions; ask basic questions; and be familiar with several songs.

We prioritize safety and full immersion by maintaining a high supervision ratio, ensuring children experiences an authentic French environment. 

Our summer camps are structured around weekly themes crafted to ignite children’s curiosity and enthusiasm for playing in French. Our programs cater to children, Kindergarten to 5th grade.

Creative Canvas: Youth Art Summer Camp

Welcome incoming 1st & 2nd graders!
Join us for a fun and creative weekly art camp designed specifically for incoming first and second graders! Led by an experienced art teacher and artist, this camp will inspire young minds to explore the exciting world of art through drawing, painting, and hands-on activities.

Throughout the week, students will have the opportunity to unleash their creativity as they learn and play in a supportive and encouraging environment. From creating vibrant paintings to sculpture, our camp will provide a foundation for artistic expression and skill development.

With a focus on fostering imagination and self-expression, students will engage in a variety of art projects that will spark their creativity and ignite their passion for art. They will have the chance to experiment with different materials and techniques, allowing them to discover their own unique artistic style.

At the end of each week, students will take home their beautiful creations, showcasing their newfound skills and confidence in art. Join us for a week of artistic exploration, laughter, and fun as we embark on a colorful journey through the world of art!”

Our registration database is tracking all unpaid sign ups. You have 48 hours to pay for any pending registrations or they will be AUTOMATICALLY DELETED by our system. We cannot hold a spot for you in a program if the registration deletes.

Ross Recreation is a Department of the Town of Ross. It was formed in 1972 to provide recreational enrichment and community service for the residents of Ross and their neighbors. The department has grown from just a handful of classes to more than 100 classes per year for infants to Seniors.
